Jurassic Coast Sea Trip: Friday 19th – Sunday 21st September 2025

You must be a member to join these trips. Sign-up here is your request to go on this trip, you will need to be accepted by the group leader before you are confirmed. Typically trips will have a planning and logistics meeting beforehand to work out the details of kit, transportation and the float plan.

Detail of Trip

The weekend sees us spending the weekend exploring the idyllic Jurassic coastline around Swanage and Lulworth Cove. Natural features seen on this stretch of coast include arches, caves and stack rocks.

This is a weekend camping trip. We will setup camp on Friday night, then paddle on Saturday and Sunday, returning to the campsite each evening. There is also an option to extend the trip to include Monday. You need to have your own tent and camping kit (i.e. tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment) to come on this trip.

Who is this trip for?

This is a perfect trip for paddlers with limited experience on the sea, looking to extend their skills and gain more sea experience in the company of others in a similar position. It is also a good trip for experienced paddlers to see some amazing coastline.

This trip is categorised as grade B, which means you need to have completed the Paddle UK (PUK) Explore Award and been on at least two CKC paddles in 2024 (including Thames paddles). Guidance on Gradings – Trip and Session Guidelines « Chelsea Kayak Club

Costs

Costs for this trip will include:
– Camping (~£12 per person per night) @ Woodyhyde Campsite | Camping in Dorset | Swanage | Corfe Castle. Reference Chelsea Kayak Club when booking to get placed in same field.
– Transport (e.g. train fares and/or contribution to fuel for CKC members transporting kayaks)
– Friday evening meal managed individually; Saturday evening meal option at https://www.bankesarmshotel.co.uk/

The number of people on this trip is limited by the number of leads and the ability to transport kayaks. If the registration is full, please email the organisers to be put on the waitlist.
